Depends on the conversation being held at the time and the person you are talking with. I have come across people who are experts in the lying department because they truly believe in what they are saying. Which makes it doubly hard to separate fiction from truth. I use my intuition a lot when it comes to conversing with people when there is a doubt about what is being said. And my intuition has yet to let me down. At some point I will find out that I have been lied to and since I hate being lied to I will confront the person with the truth in a mild mannered way where the person can not do anything but fess up.

Body language:
If they answer you with arms crossed, its a sigh of self defense...they may be lying. Also, anyone who refuses to look you in the eye when asked a question is probably lying..

Jerry! Jerry! Oh uh.. I was watching Jerry Springer.. Anyway.. I would ask the same question a week later to see if the answer they said before matches with the answer they said now.. If they said something else, that should mean their lying..

If they have to think about the answer then they're lying, because if you're telling the truth you don't need to have a good memory.

It's been proven that if they are constantly looking to the left, it's a good sign that they are lying. Although that's not ALWAYS true....just often

I usually can't tell. I just find out afterwards that something was entirely false.
