Most likely your computer is overheating. Are you running programs that are very complicated like games, 3D Software, too many programs open at once can do it too. Get some more ram so that it doesn't bog down on you and also get some more fans for your computer so that it can stay cool.
If you want some fans you can go to www.newegg.com, they are great and cheap.
If you use this computer for just everyday use like email and word, then it shouldn't need any more ram than it already has. I suggest getting some more cooling fans. Computers runs around 60 - 70 degrees Celsius. Go to google and find either cheap or free program that will monitor your computers temperature.
If all else fails, it could be that your power supply is shorting out. If I were you I would take it to a shop that deals with computers and have them look at it. I hope this helped you in some way.

it has a worm then.. need to redo hard drive wipe it all out make sure u have all cds of of software or pay someone to do it..its worm if u dint update viruses are just viruses a parasite worm is a trojan.. of some sort.. then again how old is ur comp perhaps a memory card to 256 is better ur ghz is ok fair.. 40 gb isnt enough really you should always after each use to delete cookies delete temp Internet files and history before u log off daily! but.. something tells me you have to much on ur c drive and it cant take it .. so back something up and delete something from ur hard drive c files such as music i still think tho u have a trojan get more memory after this is over. back up music by making data disk fro music files then u can insert that in comp when u want to download the songs cd etc.. if needed.. music takes up more than u think. 40 gb is not nearly enough for what ya have. do an update thru ur norton system works for new viruses and worms and use mcafee firewall or something equal to get updates on the new trojans out .. chances are u have a trojan and dont back that up on ur cd..

You didn't note what operating system you are using. If for Win XP - 128 MB ram is too little. It makes things goes too slow. And how old is your PC? How it goes crashing? Without much info, i can't really pinpoint the problem. ;)
FYI,
some computer keeps rebooting by itself maybe not be an operating system fault but of your hardwares. Do you do regular clean up for your computer hardware? e.g Dust can clot up a fan and makes it stop working which will led to over heating of some component that will eventually lead to rebooting of your pc.
You have to explain more in details of how it crashs. :)

128 MB of RAM memory is bare minumum. You would run better on 512 MB. What Operating System are you running?

e-mail me if you want to discuss further.
You should defrag your hard drive if you haven't done so in a long time also. Do it while not online and not doing other work on your computer.
With so little memory installed, don't open more than one or two applications to use.
I have had good luck with Crucial memory. You can see what memory cards are available by putting in your model number.
Use the crucial memory advisor tool.

okay you need to do the virus check thing, then the spyware check, i highly recommend disk cleanup, then check the disk for errors and defrag while your there, you can find those when you right click the C drive and hit properties and it will bring up a box to disk cleanup and a tab for tools to do the other, if that still does not work, try clean up your cookies, and after all that it still has problems you may have a trojan and you will need an expert, good luck

Go to System Properties, click on the Advanced tab, click on Settings under Startup and Recovery, and uncheck "Automatically Restart".
The next time when your PC crashes, jot down the blue screen with the error message, including something that looks like "0x012345678ABCDEF".
Based on that error message, you can do a google for it and see what exactly is the problem.
Hope it helps.

Have you installed any software/hardware recently? If so, the software/hardware may not be compatible with your computer, and that could be the reason that it is crashing. Sometimes, even when something claims to be compatible with your system, it may still not be. Remove the software/hardware and restart your computer. If that was the problem, then it should then be fixed.

Spyware maybe? Get Ad-aware and do a scan with that and then dump Internet Explorer for Firefox. (Both free)
