You may have to switch brands, or wear a garter belt. My man does not like hold ups,or pantyhose, and always is buying me garter belts.

Try one of the kind with silicone bands inside the top. they grip the skil and hold up better. Also different sizes may help. You should visit www.stockingstore.com, because they have better quality imported brands fron Europe that may work better for you. They are quite popular in Europe, so they must work there.

I wear stockings with a garter belt everyday, and that is exactly why. And if they so stay up, I get itches and ridges in my skin from the elastic tops. I hate pantyhose because I refuse to wear two pairs of panties, especially when I have an expensive collection of my own thongs, that match everything I have. I just wear a garter belt and wear my thong over the top. They are extremely comfortable if you get one that holds your stockings very high. You should really try one. The guys I know adore them too.

Yes, some of the new brands stay up on their own because of the elastic incorporated into the tops. But even then, I still like a garter belt, it takes the worry out of wondering if my stockings will stay up. I suppose garters would also work, but because you don't care for them, maybe try that double back tape. Like you would use to keep a dress or wondering blouse in place over your breasts. =)

(1) Try spraying the elastic part of the stocking with hairspray. The extra stickiness may do the job for you.
(2) Try buying the extra long or queen size. They will be enough longer that they will fit closer to your crotch area and stay in place because your thigh will thin out just before your crotch.

double sided tape. Like the kind they use to hold very low cut dresses in place. Just cut a thin strip of it and place it on the inside of the thigh high's band, it should be conceled fairly well by the denser fabric and will hold for a fairly long time. (mine always fall off and roll down, so I adopted the idea from cleavage concealment to stockings and it works fairly well)

It sounds more like they don't fit right or they are of a cheap make. Do you have short legs or maybe some meat on your thighs? I don't mean that in any bad way... I just mean that maybe you didn't get the right size. I would take them back and have a saleslady help you to get the right size... I know they aren't cheap and you mentioned you just got them... I'd take them back for sure and get something that is going to work better. I can't think of any trick that would get them to stay. Good luck to you!

Outside of getting them longer, I would say get a garter belt. I wear one all the time and I think they are terrific. They are practical and sexy at the same time.

They do slip a bit no matter what. Its kinda a jiggle and pull thing all night. But try another brand if you cant deal with it. Some are better then others. Hanes makes a great lacy thigh high

Get the kind with the silicone rings inside the tops, or gwt them longer. I prefer garterbelts myself, because I hate the hastle of the hold ups, plus they look sexier.
