If it is big enough, turn it upside down on top of something with red on it, or a red line, like a Winston cigarette package, and if you can see the red through from the back side it is not a real diamond.
A real diamond will reflect the color back to the top and you will not see the red where it touches the next color..
Cubic Z s have silicone and will attract dust quite quickly and need cleaning often. If I remember right a Cubic Z will also reflect the color green from the top where a real diamond will not.
Not sure as it has been a long time since I worked in a jewelery store.
Cubic Zs will also show wear on the edges and get scratches on the top table as it gets older.

Simple. Price, Color, Shine & Cut.
Real diamonds reflect light whether it be at/ under natural or artificial lighting.
They have a clear color unlike fake diamonds that are just normally cubic zirconias.
Generally with anything that's authentic, they come with warranty or a certificate to prove this.
A fake diamond does not perform as well as a real one due to the cut which is what real diamonds are known for.
An evaluation by a licensed jeweller would be best to determine the genuineness of diamonds.

If you are buying a diamond as part of a jewellery check for the International Gemological Institute (IGI) certification. Do not attempt to scratch a glass with a jewel diamond you may scratch the diamond and totally spoil it.
If the diamond jewel is already bought you can take it to a reputed jeweller for evaluation.

A real diamond can cut glass, but I don't know how you would check that out if it is already in a setting. To know for sure, take it to a reputable jeweler.

an fantastically trouble-free diamond try is to respire warm air on it. if it fogs up, its glass or plastic. diamonds disperse extra water vapour very right now, so a real diamond gained't fog up. a 2d try is to attempt to scratch a pitcher floor. this one is somewhat more effective risky and may want to ruin your ring if its fake. high quality smart? take it to a broking.
