Clinton, as shown from recent polls, does not have the ability to pull from the middle. The poll showed that 47% would definitely not vote for her. If true, that would be hard to overcome without really pissing off the far left. McCain only had around a 25% rate in the same category. As far as the others, I don't know. I do know this though, if Hillary wins the democratic nominations and Lieberman runs as an independent, the Republican candidate will win again.

I think it well be Hillary, Gore, or Warren of Virgina. I put my money on a Gore and Warren ticket. Of course, Hillary is the leader and may just sweep the Convention, but if she misses the first ballot, then I think the Convention will turn to Gore as the one man that has the experience, character, and voice at this point that will carry the day.

A centrist will likely win - Dem or Republican.
I'd like to see Giuliani (I lived in NYC during his tenure as mayor) take it, but the logical part of me doesn't see that happening, not yet at least.
In all honesty, I think McCain's got the best shot.
He's reached out to centrists and liberals alike, he's moderate in his stance, he has credibility and knows war from first-hand experience. As far as being too liberal for rabid Neo-cons...screw them, if it comes down to either McCain or an even more liberal candidate, who are they going to vote for?
