I noticed them back in Feb., so I went and got a board for her cage. I thought that would make them better, but instead, they seem to be worse. My other bunnies never had this problem. What can I do to make them better? Also, is there any kind of salve or ointment that will help? She seems to be a happy, healthy bunny otherwise.
Thanks!

She IS a mini-Rex, I wasn't aware that they are prone to this problem.

BTW, when I am not home, she has to stay in her cage, but when I am here (since it's vacation I'm here most of the time) I let her out to run around. She's litter-box trained.

Did you give her a wooden board? Try a piece of sheetrock or a plastic resting mat. If they are open sores, you should treat them. Some plain old Neosporin will be fine, just rub it in well. Some breeds, especially Rex & Mini Rex, just don't have very thick fur on their hocks. They are really prone to the fur wearing away and will develop round white calluses on their hocks. This is fairly normal, so just make sure they have a resting board and they'll be fine.

Mine had that but there gone now. Where does he live? If its inside it could just be carpet burns, give his favorite resting place a nice soft base.

If its outside try more soft ground rather than concrete. Does he have a run or do you keep him locked in a cage (very very bad if you do).

They are used to soft ground, mud and grass. Carpet and wooden hutches are not natural. For mine he spends his time in a carboard box with holes in so we put in some soft straw bedding to rest on.

You should be able to give your vet a call and ask for advice and not have an appt. Although rabbits do get infections very easily. Check out this website and see if you can find an article.
