Having an amniocentesis is the only way to know for sure. All the fun ways are just wives tales, you can try them all, but you've got a 50% 50% chance! You must have a ob/gyn do the real test of your amniotic fluid. It can actually be harmful to the baby, so the doctor only does it if necessary to find chromosomal abnormalities. Many high-risk pregnancies opt for the test to know they're baby is healthy.

You can try the old needle and thread thing......Thread a needle with about a 20 inch or so piece of thread. Pull it so that ends are together and tie in a knot.....then hold it just above your wrist and wait for it to start moving...It should show the kids you already have then if you have more what sex they will be...If it moves across your wrist, this is a girl, if it moves up and down your wrist, it is a boy......It should also spin for a few seconds between children.... May be an old wives tale, but it worked for me....Have fun.

are you trying to predict what you are having, or trying to find a way to make it a boy?

If it is a prediction ultrasounds work pretty well.
If you are trying to manipulate the sex of a child, an expensive Doctor can help you but not guarantee anything, sperm implanted closest to ovulation are said to give you a likely chance of a boy (male sperm swim faster) and farther from the date are girls (female sperm lives longer)...

As a person that would per fer 1 girl and all boys, but has a mother who is a special ed teacher... a healthy baby is the most important... Best of luck

The only way that I know of to tell if you will have a boy or a girl is after conception and in time the ultrasound will tell you. But it's to late then, you can't change it.

Rest assured though, you will have a boy or a girl.

This is an old oriental practice. If you tummy is espeically round, it will be a boy, otherwise it is a girl. Try to compare with other pregnant women to get a better gauge.

Cheapest way to predict.

Yes, there are two methods:

1. Amniosyntesis, the doctors draw some amniotic fluid from the womb and determine sex.

2. Ultrasound, the doctors us ultrasound to visually examine the fetus.

Look at the chinese horiscopes to see what month your baby was concieved. This is pretty much close on the head.
My son was born Sept. 2005 and when I looked at the chinese horiscope it said I was going to have a boy and I did.
My sisters was right also both times.

I had 3 girls and one boy (and, by the way, the nice thing about having all kids of the same sex is you dont have to buy a whole new wardrobe for one of them) anyway, with my boy, my saliva tasted different and my pee smelled different, I dont know how to explain it better than that

AS much as a would like to say yes,I can't. They say so many things, like look at the way we're carrying or the way the pregnancy is in contrast to the other pregnancies....Look, the best thing I can tell you is hope and pray for a healthy one. I'll tell you what I told myself., God is going to give me what HE wants me to have. But, I do understand you wanting a boy. I wanted my daughter just as bad as you wanting your boy.... GOOD LUCK!!!

Nope.

Unless you do in vitro fertilization with preimplantation genetic diagnosis, you won't know what you're getting.

Statistically, you're more likely to have a girl if you have sex in the days leading up to ovulation (since X sperm are hardy, but slow), and more likely to have a boy if you have sex on the day of ovulation (since Y sperm are fragile, but speedy), but those are just statistical likelihoods.
