The NFC East looks toughest out of the gate, but it's likely that one of the teams will fade. (And it might not even be the Eagles). And it's quite possible that one team might rise above the rest.
It seems like either of the North Divisions could provide the most competitive race down the stretch. In the AFC North, if Pittsburgh stumbles a bit, if Carson Palmer isn't quite ready, if Steve McNair can stay healthy and if some sort of miracle happens in Cleveland, that Browns-Texans game on Dec. 31 may mean as much as the Steelers-Bengals game.
In the NFC North, Chicago should walk away with the division, but if they stumble, you could conceivably see a 7-9 team win the division and get into the playoffs. You have to admit, it's tough to make the playoffs with a 7-9 record.

The NFC East is clearly the toughest, with any of the 4 teams having a very good chance to win the division. Following close behind is the AFC North. The NFC South just isn't good enough. Chris Simms and Michael Vick just don't scare me. Carolina is the best team in that division...

the most skipped over branch contained in the NFL AFC South, Colts, Jags, Titans, and Texans. The Colts will win it back this twelve months yet i search for the Texans to easily placed up an 8-8 record with the Jags getting the wild card. toughest hands down.

NFC East. In the past 3 years all teams have made the playoffs... and with the money spent this offseason there will not be a sub-.500 team.
