Goodwill. Very cheap but not a great selection.

A few years ago I never thought I would be saying this but you can get great bargains and GOOD furniture at thrift shops. The cheap stuff at Target and Walmart and Value City usually looks cheap, but if you buy a good piece of used furniture, many times all it needs is a little spiffin' up. I have gotten beautiful tables, lamps, bookcases, and even a headboard at thrift shops. The cool thing is that they are usually unique looking. I don't think I would buy anything upholstered though unless you want to redo it. Chairs are ok as long as they are the kind that you can change the fabric on. I bought a gorgeous set and change the fabric everytime I get tired of it. A few yards of beautiful material, a staple gun, a screwdriver and about a half hour. Don't worry about "matching". Mixing it up is what makes it fun and interesting.

Check to see if there are any Used Furniture or Consignment Furniture places in your area. I have picked up some neat furniture that was in really good condition and gotten some really good deals.

Check out the flea markets near you, also consignment shops and second-hand stores.
Take a drive around a nice neighborhood on bulk trash day. You might find something that only needs a little repair.
Look in the yellow pages for unfinished funiture. You can paint or stain it yourself to save money.
Check with your relatives to see if they have any furniture they want to clear out. Hey, that shabby chic look is in now.

If you live in Washington DC, you should go to UniQue Thrift Shop at the Corner of Viers Mill Road and Randolph. They buy huge lots of items from church sales and the like and keep it priced really low to keep it moving.
Craigslist is also a great idea if you don't live in DC.

Depends on were you live; Big Lots,Ikea,Walmart,Target. Or check out garage sales, secondhand or thrift stores and consignment shops. Find a high-end neighborhood and visit on trash day you can find almost new furniture on the curb sometimes;no joke. If your not handy and nee to refinish checkout TLC or HGTV.

Consignment Shops, Goodwill Stores, Tag Sales, and freecylce.org. I know many people who have furnished entire households using the first three methods. And just recently I joined freecycle.org, where you can join a local network of people for free, giving items away for free.

I am not as picky as most people, but I get lots of free stuff off the side of the road. A little cleaning up and off we go. Can't beat the price, anyway.

Try looking in the ad bullitin in your area. Also you can look in the nespaper. Ask your local mobile home retailer who they buy their furniture from, and maybe they can give you a number to a wholesaler.
