It dates back to old cultures in africa. Women with bigger butts and hips were considered better to bare children and were treated better. They would also be fined and dined and showered with gifts.
But in todays world its all about sex appeal

k.. well im not black.. or a man. but i can answer this.
they like girls with big butts because women with a "flat banga" or flat butt well.think about anal sex the guy has to be on top of the girl or right behind and of course a bigger butt would have more meat to cushion the male on top. a girl with the flat butt well.. the guy is just gonna be all up against bones... thats one reason. also because a big butt can also help accent curves around the womans hip and thigh area, and every man loves curves. and another reason would be because guys love to slap & grab butt. so basically its just pleasure to the men and during sex. hope i helped.
