It depends on the teacher on the difficulty of the material. Some teacher can dumb down the material immensely. I think it is because the lack of introduction to science at a young age. Focusing tend to be on reading, writing, and math, because those are the skills needed that children basically need. Now, yes some students hate those subjects too, but to each his own. If science is to become more appealing, people need to be taught that the stereotypes only exist truthfully in some sciences. For example, an animal lover may say he/she hates science because he/she believes that science is just physics or chemistry. But, of course, that is not true.

This is more prevalent at the US schools than in most other countries because US students are more spoiled by their parents. When a child is spoiled, he/she does not have the need to excel.
Even the low-income students in the US get 2 free meals a day at the schools, which is still better than most of the population in 3rd world countries. And a US high school drop-out can make minimum wage, which is like middle class pay in 3rd world countries.
Also, US students don't have fear for motivation because of the Child Protective Services. Fear is probably the greatest motivator for students in other countries, which is why they are more disciplined and motivated than US students. But in the US, most students don't fear their parents and they can end up not respecting their own parents. So why should the students respect the teachers?
There was a recent news clip about schools in the war-zone Lebanon. Even though there was 65% unemployment rate, and 75% poverty, the low-income Lebanese students are still very eager to learn. Many end up living at the schools to avoid going outside. Discipline and motivation are never an issue, because they know school is one means for them to have a better life, unlike the US students who just take schools for granted.
Some US students even make the schools themselves the "war-zone". Many of the same students complain about the society and poverty and how the street life is their only choice. Well those students need to go to Lebanon, and maybe come back with a better appreciation of what they do have.
Because the US students are more spoiled and less motivated, they don't have to be curious about science. Science unlike literature is curiousity driven. Students need to ask questions like why is the sky blue? etc. And they need to be disciplined to search for the answers. That is science. Math is the language of science. So US students do tend to have trouble with math and science.
Don't get me wrong. The top US students are just as motivated and disciplined as the top students from other countries. But the average US students are still way behind the average students from most other countries.

properly this one is somewhat hard for me to respond to. i'm in both departments, on account that i'm a marine biology/linguistics significant with a German minor. i do not forget that my friends from the separate parts kinda hate the different communities, yet i imagine the total ingredient is only a set of crap. area be conscious- torching something, even as a lot of relaxing, isn't counseled...
