Join clubs, sports teams, and other stuff....you'll make friends and it will make high school pass by in no time; trust me on this.

And don't give in to peer pressure. Whatever might seem cool (i.e. premarital sex, booze, smoking, drugs, etc) to the popular crowd isn't necessarily safe.

I have spent almost my entire teaching career teaching freshmen, and I love them! My advice to you is to realize that the uncertainty that you feel as a freshman will be what the college-bound seniors will experience next year. (They may seem very cool, calm, and composed this year, but they will be in your shoes again very soon.) Life is all about moving from one stage to the next. You don't have to fear that process, and you can enjoy it. Don't waste a bunch of time trying to impress upperclassmen. Find a core group in your interest areas--extra-curricular groups, co-curricular groups, et cetera--and get involved in the school community. I see way too many students who view high school as four years of purgatory they have to endure before moving on to their "real lives"--whatever that means. Right now, high school is your real life. Invest in it, and it will pay off richly for you.

In the end they will regret gettin' hooked on da bull sh**. Study freshman year is important but dont forget to relax and party. Basically dont give in to illegall temptation.

By telling yourself that it only lasts for a year of your life... and realizing that in the grand scheme of things, high school years aren't really that important (though they seem to be at the time!!!).

It's easy to adjust. Just think middle school, you should be fine. Upperclassmen don't really go around stuffing freshies in trash cans and stuff. Y'know, unless you tick someone off. So just take it in strides, you should be fine.

don't act older than you are, don't pretend to be awesome, people will think less of you. remember you are at the bottom of the food chain, but your time will come.
