In adopting a child a lot can depend on what has already happened to that child as well as other factors like age and personality
although gender can play a part - it doesn't always pay to generalize
most people consider that girls are easier but they can be more difficult too. A rule of thumb is that girls can be easier in the short term but in the longer term boys are far more 'what you see is what you get' and although they tend to be more dynamic they can also be easier to anticipate than girls.
i would advise her to go for a child they really like (rather than just feel sorry for) and can relate to - other considerations like gender being a secondary consideration

I think boys are far easier to raise mainly due to the hormone issue with women and the undue stress girls have on them to be pretty, or or to have a certain body image. I have raised a boy and a girl. I love them both but my son has been far easier to raise. No emotional highs and lows.

It depends on the soil that you plant them in. Adoption brings on a lot more issues to be concerned with rather than gender. Each will give you a share of concerns. Both can be great. Individuality. Try to find out as much about the background before you adopt.

Well...my mom says that it's easier to raise girls than it is boys because boys are much more rambunctious than girls are...I only have one sister (no brothers) so from my mom's point of veiw...girls are easier...as girls get older...they MIGHT get a bit out of control like considering boys...they might get ideas...it's true! I'm not trying to sound gross but some girls are like that...girls need to be raised the right way...with discipline (no beating)....just being taught what's right and what's wrong....so my answer is girls because they're not as wild.

Well.... Girls are easier in the 1st half, up to 12, then it gets really hard. Boys are harder at the beginning and get easier around 15....

Neither both can be handful. Girls you worry in a different way than boys but both can make you want to just quit.
It seems with girls the most you worry about is them being to fast and suffering the consequences.
Boys you worry about getting killed and thats a hard one.

In my opinion, BOYS, by far! I raised two boys, and one girl. I would rather raise 5 boys than 1 girl!

I have two sons, my sister had two girls and our friend has three girls. All say boys are easier. Boys are not fussy, eaters, dressors and who their friends are, just seemto go with the flow.
