I remember gimp, way back like 15 years ago...probably still have some left over spools around someplace. ; ) Just braid it or whatever. See if a craft store has some craft books with ideas of what you can do with it. I know there are ways to braid/weave it to get that round or square shape...usually turned into key chains or something. lol

Edit: Ohhh...found this http://www.boondoggleman.com Great instructions (with pictures) on different styles.
Makes me want to go play with that stuff again. ; ) lol

Just make it like a regular 4 stitch gimp and connect the ends with a double hook. Be sure to burn the finishing end to keep it intact.

i think they're made using macrame knots. they look like macrame knots to me but i've never used gimp, sorry!!!
