I gave my code and it accepted it.

I think you have entered the wrong code. Or else the code given to you is not correct.

Probably because the pass code has been used before.

If the passcode hasn't been used, and if it's a legal copy, double check that you didn't replace the letter "O" with the number zero "0", or visa-versa.

because its a stolen copy of Word ?
