That's one of the problems with the legal system in this country. Did you know that you could go to jail from saving someone in a car wreck if they are injured? There was a man who saved another man from his burning overturned vehicle, walking away thinking he did a good thing. A few weeks later, he's getting sued for causing the man's paralysis because he moved him from the car wreck.

Did you explain that you were trying to help her? You need to get an appeal. This won't look good on your record if you're not cleared of the charges and won't look good on any future job applications.

No criminal charge could be filed against you because you are only protecting a stranger when you attacked the man who is beating her. It is provided under the Penal Code that defense of stranger is applicable in your case..

I think from now on when you want to help someone out, just call the police. Don't jump in and do anything physical because that puts you at risk.

Did u have a trial?
U were just trying to help her, but yet again, I wasn't there. Ur heart was in the right place, you just had bad consequences. Don't try to get revenge, though. If u have contact with the girl try to explain to her what u were doing.

I think that is about what you'd expect for getting involved in the dynamic between an abusive couple. She's already proven she won't leave him and will irrationaly defend him. And that's exactly what she did.

Sorry to hear it though. You clearly had good intentions.

Some women seem to lie for that garbage, I suppose they feel they can do no better due to lack of self esteem. Thats my guess.

I think it happens all too often. She hates him but she loves him. It's a vicious cycle. You should have just called the cops or brought her to a shelter.

I learnt a long time ago. Never get in the middle of a couple's fight. It's ****** up but that's the way it is.
