i am a Filipino married to an American. i was just back from the Philippines. honestly, from experience any hotel with a room that offers $30.00 to $35.00 per night is okay (queen size bed, air condition, cable TV, shower, telephone. if you want a bath tub, make sure to find one ON THE SAME AMOUNT.) if you get the less than $30.00 room, i am sure you will not be happy. it's a single bed made of foam and the room size is just a little bit bigger than a jail. i can not suggest a specific hotel name because you did not mention where in the Philippines you will be going but as i said it's a generic price for a 3 star room in any major city hotels in the Philippines. Also, make sure to ask for free pick up from and drop off to the airport. Otherwise, you have tell us here what part of the Philippines (not exact details please) you're going so we can give you tips on taxi driver etiquette's if you're getting to your hotel by taxi from the airport. They can trick you there, you know. If you say "metered" trip to your hotel and you do not know the directions then prepare because they will 'lose' you around the area to earn more meters. That means more meters, more money for them.

Where exactly in the Philippines are you going? Metro Manila? Cebu? Palawan? Of course, the cheapest will be if you could stay over at your girlfriend's house. You get free board and lodging! But, as a sign of thanks and gratitude, you should give some gifts to her family.

If you really want to stay in a hotel, location would play an important role. If you want to stay at the middle of the city, the hotels there are more expensive than those in the suburbs. Aside from hotels, you can also stay at apartments, condos, and inns. You just have to be specific to the place where you want to look.

As for the rates, I suggest you look into www.asiahotels.com . They have comprehensive information and rates for hotels in the Philippines. For example, if you are looking for hotels in Metro Manila, go to http://www.asiahotels.com/hl/Manila-Philippines.asp There, you can sort by name, location, price, star-rating, etc. There are even hotel reviews from previous guests to the hotel.

If you are not staying in Metro Manila, just browse thru http://www.asiahotels.com/hl/Philippines.asp and look for the city/province that you will be staying at. I'm sure you can find one that fits your budget.

If you need more info, just send me a note, and I'll be glad to help.

Good luck and enjoy your stay in the Philippines!

i like the Ermita area as a results of fact there are a number of motels in loads of value ranges. additionally, you have basic accessibility to the Robinson Mall (which i like greater effective than the Mall of Asia.) Ermita isn't close to to the airport and not a methods from the airport. virtually a on the instant shot down Roxas in the direction of the US Embassy. 2 bedrooms may be harder to get. How approximately 2 greater much less high priced rooms, the two with air, inner maximum bathroom/bathe and cable television? How plenty do you desire to pay? happy inn searching.

When you're alone and no one pick you up at the airport, use the AIRPORT TAXI. Then tell you want to go to Mabini Street corner United Nations Avenue. Go down between these streets and look around there. Don't go for 5* hotels, as they were really for executives.

If possible, ask your girlfriend to meet you at the airport to accompany you there.
