that's insane. I really don't understand why people feel the need to harm those people trying to make a living, trying to live their lives. The whole situation ticks me off to be perfectly honest with you. I don't know what people can't be happy and leave well enough alone.

AFA or the American Family Association worked out a deal with Ford on this issue. This has been going on for about a year. Ford agreed to the deal to stop a boycott, then after the boycott was canceled, then Ford reneged on the deal. Ford cheated. AFA reinstated the boycott, and it is working, Ford stock has dropped over 25% in the last 4 months. AFA has only ask that its members not buy a new Ford product. AFA is not trying to tell anyone what they can do or not do. Members of AFA do not want to support the GBLT, so they will not buy products from companies whose profits support the GLBT. I agree with this boycott.

AFA is not an anti-gay group although they do oppose the attempt by homosexuals to deconstruct the institution of marriage.
If you want something to be concerned about. Be concerned about the ACLU strongly championing the cause of an ACTUAL anti-gay hate group:
http://www.newsmax.com/archives/ic/2006/7/23/113210.shtml?s=ic
These fruitloops go around with signs with charming little slogans like "God hates FAGS" and calling for the actual extermination of gays. Note that they are a far left group. This explains why the ACLU is so hot to champion their cause. Both groups are nothing more than two of the various types of liberals in this country. Liberals (a more honest name for these people is marxists) HATE gay people. They also hate minorities. And when I say hate, I mean the same type of hate that the nazis (national SOCIALISM is yet another version of the marxist cancer) have for various groups of people. The fact that liberals feel comfortable enough to openly express such contempt and hatred is cause for some concern.
Say what you will about groups like the AFA but they would never harbor this sort of hate for gay people. And if it ever came down to a liberal movment similar to what birthed the nazis, it's real christians like those who belong to the AFA that would protect you from harm.

Last year, under pressure for AFA and the like, Ford and all of it's brands pulled their ads from the major gay publications. Then organizations like the Human Rights Campaign met quickly with upper management at Ford and convinced them that gay people would be more loyal about a boycott of their products than these political extremists who were hiding behind the Bibles they had stolen from rooms at Motel 6. After that brief period, Ford has been a loyal supporter of LBGT concerns and their advertising dollars came back too. Ford is to be congratulated for standing up to these nut cases.

"the established beneficiaries of gay marriage will be divorce legal experts." -Um, the very incontrovertible certainty that Massachusetts has the bottom divorce cost interior the country and it changed into the first state to allow gay marriages very nearly ten years in the past says it fairly is inaccurate. Asker, they both do only not want "the gays" to have those pesky issues reported as rights or they prefer some thing cut loose marriage, like civil unions, so that you may experience their marriage is better to the gay peoples' marriage. it is only bigotry, undeniable and straightforward. ""anti-gay" human beings often do not want the church to attain it as a real marriage. interior the christian bible it is obviously between a guy and a woman" -no man or woman cares what their church thinks about some thing. keep telling your dumb daughters that birth control is from the devil so that they retain having youthful toddlers at 14. Which we've pay more effective taxes to help because the dumb slut won't be able to make replace for a $20 without the help of a pc no longer to tutor help a baby on her own, which possibly has FAS because she changed into too stupid and drank or smoked even as pregnant.. tell them even with the certainty that the f*ck you want. we receives equivalent rights regardless.

The AFA is one of the largest HATE GROUPS in the country lead by the religious right (Republicans).
Back to the question, yes, and it was resolved a while back with Ford and the AFA ending its boycott. Did it work? I don't know.

My views on boycotts are...they have always failed in the past unless it was the Gays doing the boycotting. Christians here have tried boycotting Disney Co, has not made one iota difference. Crazy Christians are always making threats of this and that...anything but god like, but always fall flat on their face. The only boycotts I know that have been very successful are?
Gay boycott of Florida Orange Juice in the late 70's...got Anita Bryant fired as spokes woman
Gay boycott of Coors Beer...Coors opened doors to GLBT for jobs.
Gay threats to Chrysler...company treated and tolerated bad treatment of Gays...it stopped abruptly when threatened.
Good luck

To Johnny S.
No, the boycott is not working -- the quality of Ford vehicles and the fact we are on the cusp of a recession may be having an effect -- but thank you -- I've seen some of their concept cars -- if my broker says that what you say is true -- then we will buy stock as soon as it bottoms.
I rather suspect you are talking through your *** though.
We'll see.

Reynolds

PS To Panacea -- so, do you think if you keep repeating lies enough times, someone will believe them? Don't make me laugh.

It seriously disgusts me that we live in a country that says racism is wrong, that all people are equal, that we need to tolerate and respect others - yet we are told that anyone who is gay/lesbian is just fine to persecute.
It sickens me that we are making people that live right here in this country second class citizens, and denying them rights and the ability to live free in a free country.
I am straight, but I detest zealots and bigots. I write my congresspeople to let them know what I think and I abolutely get involved. Other people wonder why, but to me - if I don't respect and protect other people's rights, who will respect and protect mine? Someone may disagree with things I do, but still be able to say that in the land of the free, I should be permitted to do it.
I may not like women in a sexual way, but if another woman feels that she is drawn to women... WHY am I to say anything against her?
This backwoods, archaic way of thinking is such an embarassment to me. I think Ford should stop selling vehicles to anyone who is anti-gay. Maybe take jobs from the anti-gay people and give them to gays. Then tell them, "well, we didn't think you'd want to work for what goes against your beliefs."
Idiots.

Many of us are quite aware of it; it's always posted in the news at 365gay.com, a subsidiary of LOGO. Did you know that gays and lesbians brought a protest to the front door of the AFA?

No, I did not know this. I just look up what information I can about companies before I support them by making a purchase or working for them.
