I miss both shows a whole lot, they appealed to a wide audience on several levels. Buffy was truly an Iconic show, it determined fashion, it made rock groups, it was a pop culture phenomena, and proved that if you give a fresh idea a chance it can make it big; as long as you have a good story to support it, with good characters and writers. So much of the pap coming out of Hollywood only worries about the stars and super special effects that they forget the plot; which is what the audience is really looking for. People may have come to see Buffy and Angel for the odd story, but they stayed because the show worked.
From: http://sarahmichellegellar.fanhost.com/
"The WB will air the two hour premiere of Buffy The Vampire Slayer on it's last night airing. That will be on September 17 from 7pm to 9pm. Here is the complete schedule for that night.
5pm Felicity
6pm Angel
7pm Buffy The Vampire Slayer
9pm Dawson's Creek"
I guess that means that FX will stop showing the episodes every weekday morning.
The show was getting expensive; one million dollars every time they dusted a vampire. So that's why it switched to the Fox network, but even they had trouble with the expense. Sarah Michelle Gellar wanted to pursue a career as a movie actress (they get higher pay and much more recognition), so when she announced that she wouldn’t mind seeing the series end they pulled the plug. It had a good run for a series, but unlike most it still hadn’t run out of material. Angel was pulling in more fans (and more money), but it would have been nowhere without Buffy. When Buffy went of the air, Angel just couldn’t keep it up. The actors have all moved on to other roles and because the first movie failed I doubt if we will ever see another, which is a real shame.
Joss Wheaton tired to do another series; Firefly, but it was canceled before the first season was completed. The series was a good science fiction series and it was just getting started. The story had good characters, a great world, and wonderful potential, but Fox was gun shy and killed it before it had a chance to really get off the ground. Remember that Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie tanked at the box office. If WB hadn’t been starving for material, I don’t think Joss or Buffy would have gotten a second chance. But, Hollywood has a short memory, thinking that a person’s track record stops with their last show.
I don't know what Joss has in the works now, but I miss him and his creative ideas. Joss is as much a visionary as Gene Roddenberry, the creator of Star Trek, was. I think it will be a long time before we see something that can match it.

I do. I liked Angel more than I did Buffy. But I really hate how they ended Angel. I have heard talks about doing a spin off with Spike (either a movie or a tv series). Since then I have started watching Charmed, which am really starting to like. But as I am watching it more and more I realize things that they took from Buffy and Angel and it just is not the same. Oh, well.

I miss the shows a lot. Especially Buffy. I never really watched Angel as much until Buffy was off the air. He was never really a favorite character of mine, but I have to admit, he was much better on his own show than playing second fiddle to Buffy on her show.

God, yes! YES, YES, YES!!!!!!!
Particularly Angel, since the show was cut short, leaving the Shan-Shu Prophecy unsolved, tons of character potential with Fred/Illyria, and amazing chemistry between David and James!
And an appearance by Sarah-Michelle would have been awesome!
Buffy's last season was really slow, so I guess the show had run it's course, but love to watch the old episodes with Marc and Seth in them.
Fave episode? Once More With Feeling!

I really do, why isn't Joss putting together like a combo movie to show Buffy's progression since the finale, and that little apocolypse thing Angel had to deal with in his.
