myspace is shut down...again...does any one know why?

Power outages and lightning strikes yesterday. They'll be back up soon, Tom assured us.

Where do I begin?
Myspace was made with a programming language called cold-fusion. While this language is considered the easiest to write, its known for not being able to hand large volumes of use, which we all know myspace receives. So, when a lot of people go on myspace, it loads down the servers way more than they should be, thus slowing everything down.
Do not believe all of this "power outage" crap everyone is trying to blame it on. Servers are not effected by power outages because servers are required to have back up power that goes on within milliseconds of a power outage. Even if they didn't have back-up power, shutting off a server doesn't change any files on it. Try unplugging your computer and plugging it back in, guess what... your computer still works? Crazy huh.
And thats a really summed up reason my myspace is always down.

Myspace has been shut down because of techincal errors. But really not so much techincal as it is electrical. There was an electrical outage where all of the main records are kept, and the backup failed, so all of it was taken down and now has to be put back up

I can get onto myspace now, even though i couldnt yesterday.. Tom posted a bulletion that said that their was a huge power outage in LA where MYSPACE central is at. So if you cant get in today its because they are working on the problems stll.

hello everyone - so there was a power outage in LA yesterday. unfortunately it directly hit the data center where myspace's servers are located. lots of people were affected. the backup power failed and that's why myspace has been screwy since yesterday afternoon. we are still working to get everything back in order. i know what most of the problems are, it's just giong to take awhile to fix them. thx for your patience!

MySpace Power Outage shuts down site
Myspace.com posted an announcement tonight at 6:40PM PST time that their data center had a power outage. Tom went on to post the following message:
"hey everyone! there's been a power outage in our data center. we're in the process of fixing it right now, so sit tight. hopefully we'll be back online within the hour. its 6:40pm PST now. wanna place a bet? -Tom"
There were many bets placed to Tom and he has lost since it is now 9:40PM PST

their was a blackout yesterday in la and myspace was shut down but their fixing it right now. only some ppl can login not all.

they had a power issue yesterday adn still making repairs they said that on myspace today :( i hope its up soon
