go into control panel and click on the sounds and multi-media. If it shows sound is on and working properly, you sound card probably got blown by the storm. new sound card.

You may need to purchase a new sound card. But first go to your control panel and click on sound. Is the speaker icon showing on your task bar by your clock? If it is showing on your taskbar then your speakers may have gone bad, which means you may need to purchase new speakers.
