Lesbians love being women. Lesbians do NOT want to be men. Lesbians do not hate men. Lesbians like and love some men very much as friends. Lesbians romantically and sexually love women who love them this way as well.

Would that stop the ignorant from asking the same stereotypical lesbian questions?

I think not but thought I'd ask your thoughts.

Yes, I should have said Most. I agree completely.

Nah. See, if you get to explaining the obvious about lesbians to stop the ignorance, why, you'd almost HAVE to post a disclaimer about Republicans, doncha know?

The problem with that is that the disclaimer would not be truthful. While it MIGHT be truthful for the majority.....there ARE Lesbians that hate men. There are Lesbians who have transgender issues.

Denying these things will not make them go away. Just like if they put some kind of disclaimer somewhere that Black people love being Black. Black people do not want to be white. Black people do not hate white people. Just saying it does not make it so. (BTW< you could reverse black and white....I am not insinuating anything racist here).

Probably not. Not all lesbians would agree with you. I had a gay man as a roommate for many years, and we had a really neat friendship. Many years later, I turned some situations that happened to us into a short fiction piece for a creative writing class and got totally bashed by a know-it-all lesbian who thought she knew all about all gay men. Other gay/lesbian friends/colleages read it and loved it (or gave me totally different and constructive critism) but hers was the only I guess--painful--response I recieved.

I don't like absolutes. If you say all of ____ people are this way, you're wrong. If you say none of _____ people think _____, you're wrong. If you feel many do, use the words most, many, few, or words like those that are not all-inclusive.

Considering all the repetitive, stereo-typical questions and answers one can see in Yahoo! Answers, I doubt that it would make any difference. People simply approach subjects with their own preconceptions; most would just ignore any disclaimer here or in any other area. I agree; the same questions and answers will keep on coming, no matter what anyone says.

A disclaimer would be fine, but only the people that came online to YahooAnswers that day or week or whatever would see it. Plus (you would think) anybody from the LBGTQ community would know that already. People repost answered questions all the time too. If I have to see the "what do you think of gay marriage" again I might yell.

Hiram: Get a existence. Going round with conspiracy theories dancing on your head gained't make your existence pleasant. as a lot as I dislike you satire/parody tries i do not undergo in options reporting you except you've been degrading to someone. Then i will stand in line for a range of of others listed less than are drained of the antics with you or everybody else who performs that pastime. i will vouch for Elys besides the undeniable fact that as she has a table finished at present with some significant initiatives she is operating on to end and her time in this web site has been extremely restricted contained in the previous few months. Hiram, once you easily attempt to make a contribution without attempting to play your video games, you've plenty to furnish and that i loved the verbal spars we had. yet then there's a part of you that looks hell bent on taking human beings down and my question has continuously been why? purely flow on, this isn't some tutorial, post or perish web site, its Yahoo. with any success you get decrease back on in some style quickly. and that i do easily propose that. and that i do celebrate with Sue posting this understanding the dynamics of whats been happening at the moment.

It's better someone asks a question and finds out their wrong, than being ignorant and not asking at all.

I know how stereotypes can frustrate you though, I asked about them and now I'm ashamed of it because I sounded like an ***.

No, it wouldn't help. Largely, the people who ask those questions have been given the correct information in the past, but they REFUSE to hear it. They ask those questions just to bait us into an argument.

There are some young people who ask questions because they really don't understand, and I do believe they deserve an answer, so I answer.

I am for posting disclaimers period...this site has become so much hooey...so many really stupid questions, and even worse answers..(NOT this question)...but it seems that this summer, every young kid in the world is tuned in asking really dumb stuff. Too bad it has come down to this, but I am sure I am not the only one loosing interest in this site.

The ignorant chose to be ignorant the hateful chose to be hateful all that a disclaimer would do would be to fuel their phobic rages. Peace.
