Know the weaknesses of students and give solutions to overcome said weaknesses;
Interpret results of tests and pinpoint as to what field they are good,
Direct students in what career they are best suited, and
Guide them to a moral life by teaching religion and ethics.

Are you asking what is the role of guidance counselors? If so, they are considered teachers, and assist in obtaining the correct programs for the students based on their ability and interest. They also provide personal guidance with school related problems.
