Yes. I shop at consignment shops. I also will add a pretty scarf to an outfit to make it look a little different

Wardrobe depends upon the nature of your job. If you are an executive, director, and one who deals with people everyday, well, better be conscious of your apparel. If you are a middle-level employee, casual wear will do. Good if you have office uniform. Blue collar jobs do not call so much for looking **** and span. There are cover-alls that cover your clothing and this do not demand too much wardrobe improvement.

college was jeans & t-shirts
many offices are business casual. However, banks & law offices etc...require suit & tie (for men)
You have a job, your making money, go buy some nice clothes. The people at the clothes store will help you out.
have fun!

Tips: Buy good quality , expensive clothes and have them tailored to fit you. If you are on a budget, just buy one item a month. it is better to get one nice suit for $1000 than 5 crappy suits at $200 each.

You should always dress for the job that you want. Not the one that you have. So if dressing up is what is required for the next position you should do it. That will get you noticed and prepared for a promotion.
