On C-Span this afternoon they were reshowing a press conference with Newt Gingrich and a few others and the topic was the upcoming election. Newt said something along the lines of "20% of voters are extreme right winged, 20% are extreme left winged, and 60% are disgusted."

I have probably never agreed with this man before, but thought this was an excellent point. Do you agree?

I agree with the idea. I agree with a lot of things Newt says. But I don't think the 60% are disgusted I think 60% don't have a clue.

“There are two sides to every issue: one side is right and the other is wrong, but the middle is always evil. The man who is wrong still retains some respect for truth, if only by accepting the responsibility of choice. But the man in the middle is the knave who blanks out the truth in order to pretend that no choice or values exist, who is willing to sit out the course of any battle, willing to cash in on the blood of the innocent or to crawl on his belly to the guilty"

I think the 60% are the knaves who blank out the truth.

Gingrich is an a** -- bu tin this difficulty he's sweet. Ron Paul's excuses for wanting to legalize risky drugs would not upward push up. those drugs are synthetic and transported on a countrywide foundation. attempting to excuse his professional-drug stance after the fact via asserting that is "a state count" is transparently ridiculous -- states don't have the mandatory jurisdiction. That such interstate events (the two people who're criminal and people who're unlawful) are a federal count is a elementary theory of yankee government. If Ron Paul knows of this, then his claimed explanation is an outright lie. If he's not conscious of this, he's unqualified to hold any public place of work, much less POTUS.

I am not totally disgusted with the two parties. I am not the biggest fan of either. If you are sick of the process quit voting for "the best candidate that can win" and start voting for who you think is the best candidate. If that 60% would vote for a third party that fits them better then the ones with power would wake up. They may not even be in power any longer. Just to let you know I usually vote Republican but I am not totally disgusted, yet.

Mr. Newt is a brilliant politician and if he said it, it's probably true. You should listen to more of his comments in full. C-Span et.al. like to take a sentences or two of Newts out of context in an attempt to make him seem mean and cruel. The truth is he's brutal, but a realist and not afraid of offending this or that group with his speech.

He forgot the 20% in the middle that are spineless cowards who couldn't make up their minds about something if they had a gun to their head.

Other than that, I agree with Newt's comments.

Thats actually a very good point. It seems that the people who get the most attention (the far left and right) don't represent the majority of Americans, who are much more moderate. Very good point.
