When I first start up my car and drive it, the transmission sticks in 1st gear for a few minutes, then kicks in and runs fine once warmed up. I have chaged the throttle position senser, tranny fluid and filter, and cleaned all electrical connections to the tranny, it still does this. Is this normal for an old age car (1990 Toyota-205k miles) It shifts fine once it is warmed up though....What else can i do?

It sounds like you have tried all you can, I know it's costly, but you should take it into a garage before you problems that are going to cost you more than what you bargain for.

There is probably a vacuum hose that runs from the intake manifold down to the transmission that might have a leak in it.

I gonna guess that it is an automatic from your description, so I would suggest checking and replacing any vacuum hoses that look cracked or aged.
