Go to this website: http://www.familywatchdog.us/
Type in your address, then at the top of the map it will list how many if found. Put that number in as your answer.
Also, do you think that's a lot for your area?
Me: 39. I live in a small to medium town. With the scale the map starts at it's not very many. (It's 39 too many, but it could be worse)

Well, obviously once again no one is reading the guidelines for this question. OR, they live in areas with NO SOs, which is a good thing.

Way too many.
There is a small town 15 minutes away from the city I live in that seems to be a dumping ground for sex offenders.
My city has a population of about a million, this town has about 15 000 and the newstories have been 2-1 in favour of this place for sex offences especially those oriented against children.

I would like to point out that that MIGHT give you an indication of how many KNOWN sex offenders are in your area. If it's accurate. There are those who illegally have failed or refused to register, and there are those who haven't been caught.
Think about it.
Then again, who is really in your area? Compare a known sex offender who lives on the other side of the county, has no ride, and is occupied in some trade or vocation, maybe farming, maybe being a store clerk or janitor, with say, an unknown or escaped sex offender who has access to vehicles, computers, internet, cash, and lives near a major interstate.
Often, it's what you're not expecting that can hurt you or your loved ones. Then again, someone above this answer had a point. A sex offender can also be classed for a minor offense, a false accusation, something as banal as statutory rape, which I'm not excusing but it's very common. You could be seventeen and have sex with a fifteen year old who seems very willing and has no parental or family guidance. According to our legal and cultural norms, the seventeen year old is a sex offender, but compare him to a pedophile, and you start to see how the phrase "sex offender" covers a wide array of offenses, some much more serious than others.
Now let's consider, there is a current hysteria against sex offenders. Known sex offenders. A sex offender doesn't look a certain way. He or she doesn't wear a uniform. Do you begin to see that in our intention or desire to be on guard for "sex offenders" we are stereotyping and actually leaving ourselves vulnerable to missing a clever predator?

That is a really good website, been to others similar before. In and around my town using my zip code it says there are 92. The population here is about 63,000. That is a pretty small percentage. Around the area of where I live (semi-rural) there aren't any.

In maximum states you may seem up the owner of record on a given handle jointly with your municipal clerk (city, township, etc.). provide the clerk with the handle of the sex criminal and discover out who the house proprietor of record is. you may want to stumble on that your ability criminal neighbor is a renter and, if so, might want to be shifting from his contemporary handle. you do not say if the criminal is youthful or old. i'm confident you keep in mind that youthful human beings have a tendency to pass round somewhat. i'd also evaluate contacting the criminal's instantaneous acquaintances and ask them how they experience about his presence. The criminal's acquaintances might want to have sensible coaching to percentage. it is properly really worth the homework in case you fairly like the community. As a very last word, providing you're fairly fascinated interior the piece of property you commented on on your question: visit the Realtor and make an stronger low provide and cite the presence of a sex criminal interior the community to validate that provide. Who knows? The sellers might want to have already taken this certainty under consideration and are hoping for ANY provide. sturdy success.

It's a pity your website only gives information about the US. Here in rural New Zealand, just about everybody over the age of 12 is either a sheep shagger or a pedophile. A good definition of a virgin is a girl who can run faster than her brother.

Probably a lot, I'm within half a kilometre of a prison.
Other than the reasons you gave for people not using the calculator, it's also possible that people who answered don't live in the USA (and therefore use weird words like "kilometre").

Two. My wife and my girlfriend, lol. Not all sex offenders are dangerous though I wouldn't trust any of them. If you pinch a person on the *** that has been teasing you and they press charges, you can be convicted of Criminal Sexual Conduct and u will be on the list as well.
