Take a couple of Vicodin pills about an hour before the test. Painkillers will keep you, and your physiological responses, calm and under control. It's not a guarantee, but it can really help.

I don't believe they can be "tricked" per se, but they can be made more unreliable than they already are. Lie detectors measure a bunch of things, heart rate breathing & galvanic skin response. There was an old trick to put a tack in your shoe. When they ask a non-damaging question, step on the tack, it skyrockets your skin response, breathing & heart rate. So...when you lie about never stealing, doing time etc...the body reacts the same. With that said...psychologists are not that stupid & this trick is old. They also ask questions to see if you are truthful or if you are saying what you think they want to hear. There are also a battery (ton) of psychological exams they can give. Plus if you do lie on the detector & they find out about it, which they always will, you'll be fired anyway.

actually the people in the CIA and stuff like that are trained not to answer questions.
as for beating the polygraph test I can remember hearing about a way... but I can't remember it, my advice would be to trip on the way in and break the thing.

Whoa, what kind of job requires that test!? I don't think a normal person can beat it. You have to be like in the CIA or military because those guys are the ones trained to beat it in case they get captured or something like that.
I guess all I can tell you is don't be nervous and answer quickly and don't think too long? LOL.
Good luck! :P

If you're trying to beat it, you don't deserve the job in the first place.
