Because when you do love and are loved it is the best feeling in the world. If it hurts, it was not meant to be. Love is wonderful!

better to have lived and loved than to not have loved or lived at all. Love hurts like buggary..I know this from experience, but love has a way of making even the worst days alright and when it hurts you know that you have truely loved. As they say there's a fine line between love and hate...

I don't think that love hurts. It is the outside forces that put strain on your relationship that hurt. Sometime you do have to show soemone you love "tough love" but it should not hurt. Evaluate what is making love hurt form you. I would bet that it is not actually the love but the outside forces.

Because not all love hurts, we're just trying to find out who's the perfect person for us, and for that, we gotta hurt, of course, we learn from our mistakes.

you have a very good point there, it is not given love that hurts it is when it is not given back that hurts, but i agree with the others that you should continue to love just watch who you are giving your love to.

Real love doesn't hurt....not even a tiny bit. So if it hurts you need to move on.

For the experience. To make that someone else happy. Possibly other reasons.
You may as well ask, if we're all going to die anyway, what's the point in living?
