For the person who wonders why Israel's victims have scars so soon - ISRAEL HAS BEEN WAGING WAR ON VARIOUS MUSLIM COUNTRIES FOR DECADES ALREADY!! Is that clear enough?! The nazis were trying to conquer - the Israelis are trying to conquer too! They won't be happy until they've stolen ALL the Muslim land around Israel!
There's a lot of BAD behaviour from both sides, but I often compare the Israelis with nazis too. I sincerely believe that if America would STOP supporting Israeli atrocities - and STOP vetoing UN actions and sanctions against Israel - the Israelis would be FORCED to sit down and negotiate!!
The problem being that they don't WANT to negotiate! They want it ALL!! They know perfectly well that they are the ones IN the wrong, but as long as America stands by condoning their actions - and selling them missiles and WMD - they feel secure in their 'righteousness'!
This problem was caused by the nazis - the Jews felt persecuted and terrified, with good reason, but somehow the focus of their revenge has become Muslims ... even though Muslims had nothing to do with WWII!! Muslims are a convenient scapegoat - not just for the Israelis, but also for Americans. Hitler used Jews as the scapegoat - Jews use Muslims as the scapegoat - eventually the Muslims will use someone as 'the scapegoat', but for the time being they have to make use of whatever resources they can get, and fight for their survival and land.
Some people think that Lebanon started this 'war' (war hasn't been declared, but it looks like a war to me!! Or maybe I should say that it looks like another INVASION?!?! Israel is VERY fond of invading Muslim territory, and America is fond of invading oil-rich Muslim territory ...) But the Lebanese people - as a whole - did NOTHING! Just like the people in the twin towers! Innocent civilians, bombed to hell just because they were doing nothing in particular!!? Can you Americans REALLY not see Israel's war-crimes for what they truly are?? 2 soldiers were taken hostage ... they MAY be in Lebanon, or they may not ... if they ARE then the Israeli bombings have probably killed them!
Personally I thought it was most reasonable of Hezbollah to offer a trade of prisoners. It's been done by ALL nations over the centuries! Israel KNEW that if it bombed Lebanon those 2 soldiers would die - either in the bombings, or at the hands of their captors. Anyone who thinks THAT'S bad should question the methods of the Israelis with their captives!
It is certainly true that 2 wrongs don't make a right - but in order for the stalemate to stop Israel has to ACKNOWLEDGE that it's WRONG!! And it will NEVER do that with America shielding it from international pressure!
Conrad put it in a nutshell really, and with far more detachment than most of us could manage!

Maybe you didn't really know what the Nazis did to the Jews. They gassed them. They werent even told that they will be executed, they were made to believe they will just be taking a shower. It was genocide. In Lebanon, it's a very different story. First, they warned Hezbollah that they'll pay if they won't return the kidnapped Israeli soldiers. Then they warned civilians to flee from certain areas before they strike. So what's the similarity? To my knowledge, Israel has never initiated attacks, they just respond in self defense. It's called national survival. What nation would survive if the government just do nothing when their citizens are killed and their soldiers kidnapped. Hezbollah has been committing these acts for quite a long time, and this time Israel decided they've had enough.

ok...I've checked out this "israel to lebanon" site and it is very disturbing. But it is disturbing in more ways than one. First of all, how do we know the pics of the dismembered babies and children are actually from Israeli bombs. And as for the torture.,.....PLEASE....you can't tell me that Hezbollah soldiers are peaceful and loving creatures! Come on people! For all I know, the pictures that are on that site are of people that have been mutilated by Hezbollah soldiers. Some of the pics are of people healed over....since the war hasn't been that long....how is that some people already have SCARS??? Something seems strange! You guys better be careful about paralleling Israelis with Nazis....there is absolutely NO comparison. Nazis were trying to CONQUER......Israel is trying to DEFEND!

The Israelis are not emulating the behavior of Hitler. There is no wide-spread effort to wipe out an ethic group. Both Israel and the Palestinians have legitimate claims to ancient lands. In balance, the Palestinians probably have a more legitimate claim to a significant portion of the disputed territory.
There are many exacerbating factors in this situation; Long-standing hatred stemming from the unjust displacement of large populations, accurate perceptions of favoritism on the part of the US Government, and the one-sided support of Israel by fundamentalist Christians. Until these three issues are addressed by impartial entities, the bloodshed will continue.

I don't know how you could come to that conclusion. The Nazis put Jews in concentration camps where they starved, tortured and killed 6,000,000 of them. The Israelis are defending themselves against terrorists who have maimed and killed Israeli citizens with their homicide bombers for far too long.
