Not the Lord in the Bible, certainly, but they all worshipped Gods for eons. They didn't have the knowledge about the world, and it was a scary place for them, so they made up Gods to protect themselves. The wind had a God, the Sea had one, etc.
Over the millenia, it boiled down to just one, making it all easier to remember.
Lots of people are afraid of this thing and that,. so having some supernatural creature, no one sees, or hears, seems to help them cope.
Seems that if there is no God, people will make one up, just as they have all these past eons.

My pastor actually preached on this very subject today, interestingly enough.
Notice Romans 1:19-20 and the surrounding. It says that people claim ignorance as an excuse to sin, but God's creation is so wondrous that they are without excuse.
Also, John 1:9 and surrounding explains that Jesus is the true light which shines everywhere, and gives light to every man that comes into the world.

If there was never a Bible the stories might would get passed down from the disciples just like the Odyssey by Homer. This book was written after centuries of being passed down. Hope this helps. God bless.

Well, "The Lord" would likely be "The Lords" as it was in ancient Greece. Obviously, religion took place as a course of nature, and would more than likely do the same in different circumstances.

Sure. The Bible is just one testimony of God and once Jesus got pissed off at the pharisees who thought that by reading Scriptures they would find eternal life.
