Someone more moderate -- I think the country will be fully sick of hard conservatism by the end of the Bush Administration. If the Democrats don't piss everyone in the country off, it'll probably be either Joe Biden or Mark Warner. On the Republican side, I think only McCain has the popularity to defeat either of them.
I'd put Biden at the head of the list, but just barely (he gets a huge boost if McCain isn't nominated).

Most likely, the person who wins enough of the popular vote in 2008 to qualify for a majority of the electoral college.
