If your not afraid of ladders. Vinyl type gutters are pretty inexpensive. A cordless drill and some galvanized screws
and a level, chalk line, and a helper.
Hang the brackets first allowing a little slope 1/4"
per I forget the footage. and then just snap the sections in.
with hired help take cost of material double it and then if more then one guy around 25-30 per hour.
Shouldn't take to much longer the 4-6 hours.

RE:
Is it easy to install gutters yourself? Is it expensive?
I have a garage with NO gutters - the rain just runs off and digs a trough in the ground along both sides.
Would installing gutters be hard? And about how much would I expect to spend? (and how much would I expect to spend if I hired someone to do it for me?)

I just put up my own gutters from Home Depot for under $400 in a weekend.
The gutters are fairly easy to put up and they look nice. I did it in a weekend. I put up about 84 feet of gutter with 7 down spouts. I used hidden hangers with screws not the nail and ferule kind. I used a reciprocating saw to cut the gutters and downspouts.
I got estimates from a couple seamless gutter installers and they were around $3000 for the same area.

I had seamless gutters installed a couple years ago, the cost was $4 per foot plus $15 per corner and $15 per downspout. The other answers are correct, you can not form and install them yourself.

It is easy to install yourself, for at least 16 feet its about $18 in pbc, and about $22 in alluminum. If you hired someone to do it, you would probably pay about $200.

i recently did this, it isnt difficult as long as you have a pitched roof, it shouldnt cost too much either, it cost me less than 50 pounds (about 90 dollars), and it took about 6 hours to do with a friend. neither of us had any experience, but as long as you can use a drill, arent afraid to go up a ladder you should manage just fine. to pay someone in england would cost about 300 pounds, (550 dollars). hope this helps!

it is easy and all your answers so far are right on the money, but when you are finished don't forget to put a splash block at the bottom of your downspouts they help keep the water away from your building and from making another trench there, they are cheap about 6 to 15 dollars.
