If so, if you guys use Hotmail as well as Yahoo how do you rate them, one against the other ? In reliability for instance. I mean no hiccups like the one we have been experiencing in England... not being abot for an entire day at least to access our emails WITHOUT AN EXPLANATION OR UPEASEMENT FROM YAHOO.. This sarcasm against yahoo but genuine question. I have never used Hotmail and to be honest I hate changing ths sort of thing but I will if you guys say Hotmail is better, more reliable. Thank you so much.

"carabear4life" - no... no... sorry... the service may be free but Yahoo have represented that they are big and so it is reasonable that people have come to rely on them, free or not, so an EXPLANATION not an apology, would have been a very correct step to take by Yahoo. And no, of jcourse not a PERSONAL, INDIVIDUAL, explanation but one ON THE STARTUP screen -- not ddificult, not expensive, not time-consuming but downright CONVENIENT for all of us to know what was fgoing on, we who were without our email for 24 hours UNEXPECTEDLY. Not asking much !!!

I have opened a Hotmail accoun but I prefer the colourful way and friendliness of Yahoo... even though they sometime goof... Rrrrrrrr....

I use Yahoo and Hotmail at the same time. You can maintain accounts with both. I mainly use yahoo because I like the features better. I have never experienced technical difficulty for an entire day but have experienced problems from time to time. My guess is Hotmail, as far as dependability, is probably about equal if not maybe a little better than yahoo. I understand why you would hate to change. I suggest you open a free Hotmail account and give it a test drive for a while, keep yahoo account open till you decide.

I've had a hotmail Acc. for five yrs. Yahoo for two years. I prefer yahoo. It has a lot more features than hotmail.
Plus, it seems to me, that you get a lot more spam and pop ups from hotmail.

I like yahoo a lot better, for messenger and for e-mail, although hotmail has improved itself a lot through time and I don't see yahoo improving that much in their e-mail services.
But to be honest with you, when it comes to e-mail, I prefer Gmail by lightyears

I use inbox.com for my main email. I never have problems with it being down, and it has really good spam filters and 2GB of storage that you can use not just for email but as online storage and to share photos.
