I'm not a lady, but I'll throw my two cents in the ring anyway :-)

I've asked a number of doctors about this - as we were worried about the same thing - and they all said the same thing. There is no such thing as a false positive from pregnancy tests, but you can get a false negative.

That is, whatever it is in the urine that is being tested is only there if you are pregnant, so if the pregnancy line shows up on the test you are indeed pregnant. It is possible that the line doesn't show up and you are still pregnant though. There should be instructions on the box about when and how you should do it to get as accurate reading as possible...

Good luck...

I trust all of the preg. test at the drug store, but some detect pregnancy earlier than others. They all will detect it after two weeks into pregnancy.

That being said though, I must also say that I took many preg tests during my first seven weeks and they all gave me negatives. I tried the cheap ones and the expensive ones. I got the positive result I knew I should get after I abstained from peeing and drinking water for several hours prior to testing.

I got 2 "not pregnant" results from First Response. And then I bought a store brand one that was on sale that told me that I was pregnant (it was a more complicated test with a dropper and cup). I am now 15 week pregnant... so the "cheapie" won. Also keep in mind that it is unusal to get positive result if you are not pregnant.

They're around 97% - 99% accurate. It depends on when you do them. A couple of days after your periods due is best. Also your fist pee in the morning is the best because it's richest in the hormone the test picks up on.

my dr suggested the first response. Used them all three times and got a positive response. My clear blue gave me a negative response-and my son from that test is going to be 17 soon.

No I don't. I would go to planned parenthood. They do testing for free and it only takes a few minutes.
