I love candles. Just last night we had a power outage and since we always burned candles, we lit them up easily. I had a flashlight by my side but the heck with it. You have a great day also. Thanks.

Candles do look prettier but if the storm is so gnarly then its possible the candles could blow out or over and burn your house down, so I would choose a flashlight. For a general power out then I would use candles :)

We usually use a propane lantern on the dining room table.. where we usually stay (playing cards..reading..etc)then some candles in the kitchen and living room..and i take a flashlight to the bathroom so i can see exactly where i have to aim :)

Love candles, but always afraid I'll fall asleep and start a fire. So start with candles and resort to nonbattery (hand-cranked) light/radio combo.
