It's not really money obsession, but a strange sense of entitlement. People feel that everyone should compensate them for when things in life don't work out like they expected.

Some laws suits are totally justified and needed....
Say you bought a product that was defective and it cost you your life or the life of a loved one....You mean to say that company wasn't responsible for putting out such a product?
Take the Ford Motor company. They has sold many cars with defective parts or with poor, dangerous designed who have killed thousands in this country and they hold no culpability?
I totally agree, there are some frivolous law suits, but for most they are not frivolous....Corporate America is NOT above the law...
And trust me, its not about the money, those people who lost loved ones due to defective products would MUCH rather have there loved ones back, then to have the money....I speak from experience here...

It is common practise the world over to postpone acting on human essentials for projects aimed at getting the power or immediately getting more money. The work ethic, higher education, professionalism are all based or prized at a higher monetary value. Not only is the money objective respected as evidence of personal responsibility, self reliability, independence it is also moralized in the work ethic, that the pursuit for more money through work over charity is symptomatic and ideologically and governmentally enforced. That a person is best motivated to gain money over other motives serves as proof that competition produces the better citizen; that's the moral. For a person to attract another it is needed that they prove themselves moral, the better person as evidenced in their monetary worth over another. That distortion for human values has it obvious failings in the dishonest acts aimed at getting money.
The general belief and confirmation for that belief that failure means social outcasting, abandonment and suspicion for immoral acts enforces the money motive even harder. That is why sports is rewarded with much more money than medicine and law.

Money makes the world go round.
I'm not saying I approve. I'd rather we didn't care about such things, but that won't happen for a looong time (I'll be dead before it happens).

Yep. It's always about the filthy money. Funny eh. People that don't have it aren't screwing each other over for a percentage.
