Why? Well lets start with:
Interracial dating - Why is this still an issue? Why only 30 years ago was this not a crime and removed from law books? Why do I still get strange looks when me and my gf go out?
Hate crimes - Why do we have to see this on the news every day? Truck draggings, lynching, ect.
Hate groups - The KKK still exist for what reason again?
I mean come on they JUST stop segregation in the mid 60's (1965 to be exact). That was'nt that long ago. My aunts, ucles, and grandparents all went to segregated schools or right after where they still had to deal with racial stuff.
Things dont take just a few years to change. These things take a very long process and people need to understand that people that arent even in their 40's had to go through this stuff and that the same people on the other end of the stick still teach their kids all type of racist behaviors.
Open your eyes people.
And on top of it you asked a racist question! Why do black people feel our generation is racist? We are not the only ones who think so, but since your ONLY asking black people I guess you don't mind bias answers which would go along with the bias mindset you're seeming to potray (roll eyes)
PS: rascist is spelled racist.

The reason why is generalizations like you're using in this question. Why do YOU think that all black people think that all white people are racist? we don't. But I know that racism still exists, and if you don't then you're living in a fantasy world. Maybe the black people who claim racism really experienced racism. Did you ever think of that? maybe YOU don't experience it because you're white, or you'll be in the same situation and wont think of it that way because you never had a reason to. For example, a store owner may follow YOU around a store tat sells expensive things because they want to help you, but to a black person the person may be following you around because they want to make sure you don't steal anything. It can be the same store owner too, you perceive it as one thing, and someone else perceives it as another. And both of you are right. You have no reason to think that there's racism because (as far as I know) you haven't experienced racism by a white person BECAUSE YOU'RE WHITE. The problem now is racism is harder to spot because it is internal now and hidden. No one is going to call you the N word on the street, that pretty much never happens, but people may remember that their car door isn't locked when you happen to walk by, or they may remember that their child is a walking a little too far ahead of them when they see you coming, or a worker may remember that he's not watching the video camera as well as he should when a group of black men enter the store. It's all subtle, something that if you haven't grown up black, you wouldn't understand, and you wouldn't believe. So please don't think we're all paranoid, some of us are, yes, but some of you white people are too. Just try to suspend your criticism for a little while and think that maybe if so many black people feel that racism still exists, they may just know what theyre talking about. No, you're not responsible for the wrongs of your parents, but don't think that racism is over 'cuz its not, and its not just black and white racism either.

Way to want people to stop a generalization with one of your own. I'm black and I don't think all modern white people are racist...but some of them are. Aren't the KKK, Skinheads, etc. still around. But you get ignorant racist people in EVERY race. We ALL need to stop throwing stones at each other and get along. The first step: Interracial dating for everybody!! Lol, j/k (even though I love interracial relationships) but understanding IS key. Some blacks, like some whites, just don't wanna take the step towards healing the rifts caused by the past. I'm willing to though...aren't you?

some black people seem to feel that way, and i would bet they do because they are the ones still being exposed to it, and victimized by it, or watching it happen to their loved ones. and i can understand their feelings, in a way.
for starters, how about this - they hear all the time about how bad, wrong, inferior they are. not only in all seriousness from bigots, but in stupid jokes, basic attitudes, and body language. they never see the part of this generation that is not racist cut in and tell the racist crowd to get over themselves. so they have no reason to believe that whites aren't all at the very least indifferent to racism.
- those that too support them tend to do it in a paternalistic way, coming to their defense as if they couldn't defend themselves as opposed to simply making their support known and offering help. paternalism breeds resentment. they figure by the simple fact that you take over their fight you are declaring them incapable of carrying it on, and therefore, you too are a racist, though of a different kind.

We don't think all of you are rascist. Lots of us have white friends. It is just some people we know are rascist because we have experienced it in our lifetime. I never thought it would happend to me because of the new generation but I was wrong and it happens more than you think.

That's a very broad statement. I am black, female and over 40 and definitely do not think that all of any generation is racist. A few limited thinkers in any racial group can cause problems for a lot of folk.

If you want to know why, go to New Orleans. Now, you may not have personally caused the problems that African Americans face today, but have you personally done anything to make things better? We can be judged not only by our actions, but by our inactions.

Racism is a learned behavior. Perhaps the black people that you've encountered have had negative experiences with other races, or perhaps their parents have taught them that other races discriminate against blacks..... It's time to stop the cycle! Racism sucks!

Not all black people think that.....I'm black and I'm marrying a white man. As people above me said...racism is either taught or experienced.
Racism isn't bigger issue though.....being stereotypical is.
All black people don't go around with their pants around their ankles screaming obscenities. And all white people don't walk with overalls screaming obscenities.
Racism AND stereotypes suck.
