Probably because young people believe the media to be truth and most of the media is liberal. With age comes wisdom and the ability to think for yourself and research your beliefs and support the party that most closly resembles your beliefs. Not to mention younger people are concerned with what directly affects them at the moment so they are more likely to take the view of the democrats (liberals) wheras older people concern themselfs with a broader perspective of whats going on and how actions will affect the future and how money affects things. Just a guess on my count though, Im in the "young" catagory and not only republican, but (for the most part) a Bush supporter.

Seniors, who are usually the largest single block of voters, are often erroneously viewed as a crucial swing vote, said both experts. The party roots of the senior voters have been set for much longer and changing old habits among them is a difficult task, they said, while it is easier to gain ground among young voters.
Dresner cited one Gallup poll that examined voting behavior by age from 1976 through 2000 and showed that the average change in the number of votes for Republicans from one election to the next was almost 13 percent among voters between 18 and 29, while for 30- to 50-year-old voters, the figure dropped to 8 percent. Among voters over 50, it plummeted to 6 percent, he said.
According to an analysis Dresner shared with the audience, " failure to do well among voters under 30 over the course of several consecutive elections could spell long-term disaster" for the Grand Old Party.
But the findings are not about increasing the level of young voter turnout in the elections, Dresner said. In California, he said, all bets are off when it comes to predicting how much support young voters will give to the Republicans. "This particular trend doesn't hold true in this state," Dresner said. "The Republican Party, for a lot of reasons, just doesn't appeal to the young voters here.

Young people are always posed against society. They , as a matter of fact, haven't contributed a lick in its formation. It was all settled before they were born.
They have this impetus to make changes to the establishment and they feel that these changes can be realized more readily through the democratic party.
However, as they age and see that these changes, most at best, never come to fruit. That change is a constant struggle with the conservative Ideal. They become weary and wary, until one day they find themselves too old to walk the walk and submit to the whims of society. Holding on to dear life and the possessions they amassed, anticipating the next generation that wants to chip away at your gains.

youthful human beings are ignorant. youthful human beings are also complete of techniques that they imagine will replace the international for the more effective. They have not had sufficient genuine international adventure to work out the disastrous flaws of their questioning. I honestly have considered such numerous human beings do a 100 and eighty from what they "knew" changed into actual as a teenage. As those human beings were given older and had genuine ordinary jobs and discovered severe questioning they right now became more effective conservative. regrettably someone human beings will attempt to be youthful toddlers continuously regardless how a lot trouble-free experience receives of their way. those human beings are oftentimes reported as poor. With age comes knowledge and comprehend-how of who the international works besides as comprehend-how the previous. Republicans have a tendency to be more effective life like of their questioning and do not do only even with the certainty that the television or instructor tells them to imagine. it truly is almost no longer attainable to stay, study and adventure and nonetheless be a liberal. Liberalism is a psychological ailment that feeds on lack of understanding, hypocrisy and emotion. As human beings become older their existence reviews with failure and blunders tutor them that being a dumbocrat is nonsense and leads to failure subsequently they lean to the right.

Someone here just said that when you are young you are subject to the draft?
I hate to tell you this but there is no draft that young people are subjected to and that answers the question the asker asked. Young people are naive and older people are smart enough to see through all the lies that the democrats use to scare young people into voting for them.

It has to do with status quo. Older folks like the status quo or want it back the way it was, and younger folks want to change it, or progress forward.
The same is, generally, true about the Republicans(conservatives) and the Democrats(liberals).

I think young people vote Democrat because they are more easy going, they try to give everyone a chance in life regardless of their color , or how much money they have. One student told me that in her world they believe everyone has a right to their opinion and what they want to wear. She said that she had some friends who were pretty smart but some people didn't give them the chance because they dressed Gothic. Republican are narrow minded and think that their ways are right and no room for change.

Because some young people are easily mislead by celebrities and MTV. Older people tend to be more informed and don't bite on commercials that say Vote or Die and then forget to Vote Like Paris Hilton
