... most of the Americans asking and answering questions in this room are very superficial and holding unbalanced (biased) and overly simplistic viewpoints? I really need a robust explanation because this issue is overwhelming me these days.

p.s.: I am not American and do not live in the USA, but I think the language I've used to phrase this question is relatively tough for many people here in the room because most Americans are terrible at English (my personal and online experiences helped me imply so). Anyway, I think this is a good point because it can ensure that the ones who'll dare answer this question are not gonna be just some brainless, low-education people. I need real strong answers. Thanks in advance.

The few smart people are the puppeteers and everyone else are puppets. That said I am from Canada, but have lived in the US a long time.

Don't equate the mindless drivel posted here with the intelligence of all Americans. Most of the poor grammar, spelling and other errors are coming from children and those having English as a second language. The people that make America a superpower don't waste their time sitting on the computer like this. That's why you won't see posts from the movers and shakers here. I'm not a mover or shaker, just a middle class slob sitting at home on a hot day trying to keep from falling asleep. Don't be overwhelmed with how or why America is what it is. We are a democracy. That's what it's all about. Freedom to choose, freedom to create, freedom to excel. Hope that helps and wasn't too simplistic for you.

in the end I believe that if any group of people would get together and hold free elections (including women and people of all races and religions) and say no we don't wont to be free America should leave

You are kind of full of yourself, aren't you?
And self contradictory to boot.
first you say most of the answers here are superficial, unbalanced and overly simplistic.
And then go on to say Americans are not good at English.
And then you want deep profound answer because you are so overwhelmed these days with the profound question of why America is superpower.

I will give you my over simplistic superficial version of why America is superpower.
Because....Most of the industrialized nations were bombed into rubble during World War Two.
America was fortunate enough....mainly due to geography to have come out of WW2 with its industrial engine running at full speed and with the best equipped military in the world.
And then we spent decades nose to nose with the Soviet Union which prompted the United States and the Soviet Union to engage in an arms race and technological one upmanship.

Sorry I can't provide you with a deep deep profound philosophical treatise but I am superficial simple minded American whose English is not too good.

I think that most smart Americans have better things to do than spend hours on Yahoo!Answers, and the ones that are here will avoid offensive questions. But the only real reason that America is a superpower is luck. If Japan hadn't surrendered after the second bomb was dropped, the Axis could have won WW2, and the US would not have become a world power.

America is a young country, after the creation of America by the states and it's leaders got busy with their interests in science and technology. The Industrial revolution created so many wonderful ideas and inventions that were used for the betterment of mankind that America and Americans were looked up to by other nations as the leader in the betterment of man and it was true for over 100 years. In reality Americans are all originally from somewhere else, in the past that somewhere else was probally a country not as modernized and as free as America, so these immigrating people , once free to do and become whatever they wanted , created whole new technologies based on the minds of others world wide. It was similar to a discovery revolution and was fed and created by new Americans, the same melting pot that we have today. What is causing Americas downfall today? The current administration, the Media, the super rich, and the masses that have become lazy in the brain(chemtrails &HHARP). What could we do to wake up the people of America to get off the pot and start helping save this great country of mine? Legalize pot, for starters.

The premise of your question assumes there is such a thing as a superpower. I think the concept is non-sense. No country is powerful enough to control the world. We are just strong enough to be free.

But I guess life just isn't fair. Good intentions and nuance don't pay the bills, build planes or fight terrorist. Hand wringing and fretting might be a good euroweenie sport but they don't accomplish anything.

“Thinking is man’s only basic virtue, from which all others proceed. And his basic vice, the source of all his evils, is the willful suspension of one’s consciousness, the refusal to think---not blindness, but the refusal to see; not ignorance, but the refusal to know. It is the act of unfocusing your mind and inducing an inner fog to escape the responsibility of judgment.”

The euroweenies and U.S. leftist create a false world of incomprehensible complexity. A place where all things are colored in indistinguishable shades of gray, and the moral compass spins wildly. And thus relieve themselves of the task of choosing between good and evil. Or of thinking at all.

Europe has a history of capitulation to terrorist which goes back hundreds of years. (See the Barbary Pirates, Hitler, Stalin etc).

You are overwhelmed because you accept as true a false philosophical system spawned by the French revolution and Marxism. A moral system that denies the existance of evil or good.

There are a number of reasons that the US is a super power. One of them is our Country has attracted some of the best and brightest the world had to offer throughout its history. These people were able to exhibit their abilities in this country where as in there old country they may have been overlooked because they weren't of the right class, or political group, or religion. America has been very smart in that regard. Our economy encourages people with ideas to take those same ideas and grow. We made it easy to succeed.
People such as you would never make it in America. You don't have the open mind or the entrepreneurial spirit. Your best to stay where you are, we have no more room for people like you.

Because we have incentive -- the incentive being that anyone who tries hard enough, can make something of himself. Let me use my son as an example. As a teenager, he was a royal pain, when he was 20 he met his future wife. They married and - I can only describe it as a miracle - he enrolled in night school. Started in a community college. Felt he needed more education to make more money so he transferred to a university. He worked 6, and sometimes 7 days a week, sometimes 12 hours a day, he looked terrible, but he persisted. His wife stayed home with the kids and took supper to him at work so he would have time to study. Took him 8 years but he got his B.S. He now has a very good job and he deserves every bit of it.

First, "gonna" is not a word in the English language. It is part of the American slang that you so obviously despise. Second, it is very ignorant to come to the conclusion that posters on this website are representative of the US society. Third, what simplistic viewpoints are you referring to? If you are in support of ridiculous conspiracy theories (like Al Qaeda is not responsible for 9/11 but some combination of Jews/CIA/FBI/Mossad are, then you need to get your head checked)

So, what's your question? You go on and on criticizing Americans' abilities to write English, which I may agree with, and you criticize most of the answers here as overly simplistic, but you don't actually ask a question. Criticism doesn't usually get anything but criticism back by the way.
