I would consider that excessive and needy. I don't even call my best friend that much.

Grown adults should have the maturity to handle their daily lives.

Some people like chat with their mom or sis or whatever once a day, some once a week it varies. Normally, I will call my daughter about once a week and we're both happy with that.

Does she have email? Maybe that's a better way to stay in touch and have a phone call a couple times a week. Do they have enough to keep themselves busy? Did she raise him to feel "obligated" all the time? Are they gossiping? Does the mom have a LIFE? If she's bored, she can volunteer or expand her own social and educational horizons. If it's more of his neediness, than hers, I suggest you find out why he feels the need to touch base with her so often, anxiety...or whatever is going on.

It is normal for him to call maybe once a day but for anything more than that it is not normal. The only time it might be normal is if he is having a problem that only his mom can help him with. Now that you are married he needs to leave his mom and let you take care of things.

Hello,I think it is quite normal,if the Mother and son have a close relationship..I have that kind of a relationship with my son...I am also close to his wife..sometimes she calls 2 to 4 times a day!!Depending on what her needs are!! I love this kind of relationship I have with my family,I wish everyone could have a daughter-in-law that is as understanding about our relationship!!I love the fact that they feel they can call anytime !!! Get closer to your Mother-in-law! It might help..I hope it does...

Depends if its my son calling me then yes its normal lol.. , but seriously i guess it depends on the relationship he has with his mother and if its destructive in any way to your marriage him talking to his mom, if not, then stop being so petty.. mom's dont live forever.. and as long as its not interferring in your life directly, then just leave it alone.. eventually someday u'll have children and realize how hard it is to go from caring for them every day , to all the sudden them being grown and gone..

i think that it is nice and sweet to keep in touch with your mom, i mean you used to live with her, its just the same except its on the phone, and she probably enjoys talking with you because sime kids just totally forget about there parents after they move out.
