I am a 23 year old female and I wish that I had someone that I was close too...

I think almost everyone wishes that.
And.... trust me .... if you refuse to settle for less than a best friend in a relationship, it WILL happen ... it may take awhile ... but it will, usually when you least expect it.
Again, the key is .. don't settle for less!!
Hold out for the best!!

I'm 49 and feel the same way if you were to ask me if I had a true friend or someone I was close to I could share my tears and fears with I would have to say no. Everyday I crosses my mind. Most of the times I look to Jesus as a personal friend. But as earthly there isn't anyone. A single parent of 2 teens and it makes life tough!

Not all of us are lucky to find some one that we can be close to as well as to trust. Don't be desperate to find some one as you may regret this choice later on. Do you have female girlfriends that you can chill out with and in so doing meet people as well.
At times it can be a real let down in not having some one to do things with and not feel alone. Have you gone places or have some mutual friend introduce you to some one ?
Ever though of doing some project were you will meet people of your age group ? Say some course etc ! Those are all for example purposes as i don't know your back ground
Hope they give you some clue in finding some one

I believe people go through lonely spells from time to time, even if you're in a group of people you can still feel lonesome. Best thing is to talk it out with a trusted person. It can be family or someone you highly respect. Hey if you need to vent or talk, send me an e-mail.

Of course....Its part of the human condition that we seek out friendship and companionship.
How many times have I seen something that I wished I could call someone and tell them about it?
You would be surprised how many people are out there who are surrounded with friends and family...and yet....long for someone that they could just talk to about things on their mind.
I have a 13 year old neice that seeks me out to just talk about her day...her friends....her little boyfriend..(its just too cute) and things she wants to do. Her mom is out of the picture...her dad wont listen...and all her other family just tells her to be quiet.
I sit and listen and laugh and sometimes I even have her answer questions here in Yahoo Answers.
And thats what it takes....someone to listen.
