Go to Yahoo! Avatar and create you an Avatar. When your finished you can edit your profile on here so that your display pic is your avatar. You can also put in your real pic if you prefer.

when you first signed up for this question, answer thing.it asked u if you wanted to share a picture or your avitar or the smiley box thingy, but i dont know how to go back to it??

Go to "My Q&A".
Click "Edit My Profile"
Under the photo option, choose either 360 photo or avatar.
If you choose 360 photo, you can use a photo that you have uploaded to your 360 page (that's what I did).
If you choose avatar, you'll get the step-by-step instructions on how to create one.

try creating an avatar mine auto linked when i joined (i had one on my messenger) It can be found under more yahoo.
