I am on my father's Alltel Greater Freedom 1200 Plan which costs him about $100.00 a month for all the add-ons. If you travel out of your home state a lot, you need to opt for National Freedom plans. Some phones are free whereas others are not. It all depends. It cost my dad around $500.00 one month because he did not understand that there was any roaming charges when he left the state of Florida and stayed in Alabama for a week. I love Alltel because it never dropped any of my calls, and I live out in the country where the major carriers don't have much coverage. Go here to www.wirefly.com or www.myrateplan.com to get the best deals. It better to always go here than to the carrier itself.

monthly--I have 700 minutes and 300 texts for $58. That's about as cheap as it gets...but the service is excellent. Centennial Wireless service wouldn't even let me use the phone inside my house, it was that bad. And Cingulair will misquote your average bill, make it seem cheaper than it actually is. I've had absolutely no problem with Alltel, and I've heard that Virgin Mobile is good, too.

I have 3 free phones on my account. If no minute overages are incured the bill is 113.00 per month. I receive a bill once a month.
