I heard that CRT screens get ruined if left turned on without a screensaver on or having the screen turned off. Is this true also with the LCD screens?

No LCDs don't have that problem. LCD screens are relatively fragile and viewing angles are limited. LCDs can't display full motion video as well as CRT.

I don't think it's possible with a LCD. Never seen it happen anyway. Our Advent system at work has LCD monitors. Some of the screens stay on the same equipment all day and have never burnt in.

No. LCD screens do not have that problem. The newer CRTs don't either. The screen savers these days are just for fun!
