The reason many people feel this ways is pretty simple to see.... Take these songs in theyre highest quality and play them over an amazing speaker systesm... The quality of the instrumental sound is down right amazing... also you usually will find more than just a guitar, bass, and drums and a vocalist. Also how the vocalist sings is very diff. they usually have amazing ranges or a very unique sound, Take ACDC for example on unique and Huey Lewis/ Kenny loggins for the Range. I personally love todays rock and roll but it definately lost some of the cool things that the old rock and roll had. The Amazing guitar talent of Stevie Ray Vaughn is something that just cant be out done. Its stuff like that why people feel that from 1960-1990 couldnt be beat.

There is still some good music now, but there is just too much of it nowadays that is just plain junk and all sounds the same...no originality. The 60s to the 80s had some really great music.

It's not. The 60s, 70s and 80s had some good songs, to be sure, but you can't beat the 90s.

It depends on your taste I guess, but most people agree with me when I say that today's rock is a joke, and so is the 90's. I guess it's because those were the founding years for rock or something. And I'm a girl so it's not limited to guys, plus I'm young (17) so don't blame it on them being old either.

Well. . . change that from the 60's to the early 90's and it's correct. Today's music is nothing but a bunch of gangster drug dealing thugs and sissy boy bands. The women are nothing but hoochie mamma whores too.

Cause they're jealous of the young people who are more up to date on the goingson of the music business. And because in their generation, that was suitable music, EVERYONE listened to it, it was just uniform, and a different type ain't gonna settle well with them.

Many guys of all ages do fit the stereotypical image you suggest. It has to do with the same sheik and attraction that antiques hold. "Old school is cool." I hear all of the old sounds in the new rock. I prefer to be progressive in my taste.

Because grunge, alternative rock and punk overshadowed metal and rock during the 90's.
