They will always say they support our troops but not the war. Yet the main stream left slanted media seems to only show us and report the negative side of Iraq. They had an orgasm when they could report "the1000th soldier has died in Iraq today" back a year or so ago. But never report the positive things that happen there. It's just the liberal mindset. They don't take the war on terror seriously and the higher up liberals have put their hopes on Bush loosing the war on terror to re-gain the power they once had. All war sucks yet sometimes you have to fight. The president is fighting the war on terror the best way he knows how, and so far it has kept us safe at home which is his job. the liberals in power or want to be in power have no love for this country the way it it. They hate the fact that we are a super power and the richest nation on earth. So they want their power back so they can help the U.S. to become a 3rd world nation and "share our wealth equally" after all just because Bill over there worked his butt off to have a succesfull business and is rich now doesn't deserve to keep what he earned if bob over there is still poor (no matter the reason). And Jose should be allowed to migrate here legal or not it is his right as a human being. They think only the government should be rich and since they are the smartest of all the political parties it is their right to be our leaders and if we just allow them to do their job we will become the "great society" hahahahaha scarey stuff my friends

I don't speak for all "lefties" but supporting our troops is great. These men and women are out there doing the best they can under horrific sitiuations. No one has any qualms with that. But we love them and we WANT THEM HOME!!!!
Have fun with your yellow ribbons. But I think you must agree it is a hollow gesture considering all the death and destruction and pointless waste this idiotic, criminal war has caused. As the service men and women are no more than walking targets that are being picked off daily, as the death tolls mount (2500 dead 18,000 critically wounded) and as it is clear our reasons for being there are suspect AT BEST and I would say criminal, you have to wonder what a yellow ribbon is supposed to represent. We say support the troops by bringing them out of this horrible quagmire Bush stumbled into. He shoud be impeached and brought up on war crimes.
So forgive me if I don't see the point of a yellow ribbon on my car. I prefer to go to Santa Monica Pier where every Sunday, they put up a cross for every soldier who has died in Iraq. It takes up more and more space. It's a terrible tragedy that seems to have no end in sight. How much more pointless death and destruction are you willing to take as you place your yellow ribbon?

Sir, I'm a leftied and had a son over in Iraq that got wounded I SUPPORT THEM 100% ...The thing I don't support is the American troops being lied to about why they are over their. And in a place where there equipment is in poor shape and the young men and women are digging around trying to find parts for their broken down machine just to keep themselves alive. I also have a nephew over their and he is always talking about how bad their air plane is. So before you talk about lefties not supporting the troops maybe you should find out why???

How, exactly, does buying a yellow ribbon made in China at WalMart support the troops? No thanks. I'd rather write my senators when they are voting to cut the troops pay and benefits, like they've done 4 times since the war began.
Amen schenzy, that must be a humbling sight...

That's a broad generalization and very narrow minded, in my opinion.
I support our troops.
I WANT THEM HOME NOW!
(Of course that would leave Iraq in a worse situation than it was before we invaded it. What am I saying?? The situation IS worse now.)
What I don't support is **THE WAR ON ERROR**. You know the one. It was started by an Imperial Prince of Destruction, our very own Little Thug President. The first President to major in Cheer Leading as he struggled with his 'C' average. LOL!
And what makes you think us "lefties" DON'T have a yellow ribbon on some of our cars? I don't have a yellow ribbon bumper sticker on my car because I DON'T want others to think I support The War on Error. Anyway, those who do have those bumper stickers on their cars simply give the owners a feel good and warm and fuzzy, perhaps allowing them to somehow feel more patriotic when supporting this debacle.
BTW, you're a bit arrogant and overly presumptuous, don't you think?

Yeah, little ribbon magnets mean SO much more than not cutting their benefits, giving them the equipment they need, not forcing "stop-loss" on them to extend their tours FAR beyond what was agreed to, or having SOME kind of strategy to help them stay alive besides "stay the course".
I'd rather help give tangable support, through charities that support military families (btw....WHY isn't the bush administration supporting THEM?) rather than try to ease my guilty mind (for supporting this chimp) with a stupid magnet.

Supports the troops wholeheartedly. I hope they all come back safe and sound. Doesn't support the lies that got them there in the first place. There is a huge difference.

Funny, I don't know one person who does not support our troops and I know a lot of people.
What you "righties" seem to misunderstand is that you can be against the war and still support our troops.
I agree with Barron.
