Could you see yourself ever "truly" being happy again with someone who has cheated on you?

not truly happy cause you will always have that in your heart that he or she has cheated on you once before. And best believe if they have done it once they will do it again and again.

No, I really couldn't. I would always have that nagging thought in the back of my mind wondering if they would ever do it again. My ex-wife and I always had a discussion about this topic and we were always on the same page. We wouldn't be able to trust this person or be truly happy again. But, needless to say, my ex decided to try anyway, that's why I'm single now. I guess my question to you would be why you would want to stay with someone that has cheated on you?

I guess it depends on if u are married or not? Before me and my husband were married, he did cheat on me!!! It took a long time to get over it, but we did!! That was seven years ago and I honestly dont think about it anymore. I trust him more now than I ever have. It would be a different story if he cheated on me now though. I would not even try and make it work. I would defiently divorce him.

NO! been there and for the kids sake, I forgave him time and time again because every time he got caught he said he would never do it again. Once a cheat, 99% of time always a cheat. I long have been remarried and my ex, well he's on his fourth marriage and he has cheated on them all!

No way, Once a cheater always a cheater. And the trust is gone once he cheats, and the respect you had for him.

I had someone cheat on me with 2 of my really good friends and you do get over it but next time you'll be extremely careful with who you get involved with!

m8yt wife cheated on me 4 days after i proposed to her, we still stayed together, that was three years ago, and we are happy, u have to put it to the side, it will always be there, as time goes , the pain will fade, but you will always have that scar, but remember this, scars sometimes tend to bleed. so always, always, be aware of your feelings, it could happen again

no, you can try. but it will always be at the back of your mind eating away. You'll start checking cell phone calls, where he's been on the internet, smelling him when he comes home. It's no way to live. If you can't trust him, kick him to the curb!

I could forgive, I guess, but the trust would never return. Trust is a precious thing, and if it is destroyed, it never will come back. You can say you trust him again, but way back, in the back of your mind, the doubt remains.

It would be tough, but it could happen after a long period of time after a confession and apology.
