I'm from Venezuela... and I think that the greatest invention is "Joropo". It's a venezuelan and colombian dance celebration.. it's really fun and all the food is great. good luck.

The music of Carlos Gardel, the Argentinian/Uruguayan "inventor" of the tango... Both countries stake claims to him as their native son.

Or, maybe the "strap-on" duck, found here: http://www.strangecosmos.com/content/item/5696.html

Maybe there aren't many inventors in Argentina. Come on! The strap on duck? Give me a break!

Bernardo Houssay - Argentina
Famous Hispanic inventor and Argentinian scientist and activist Bernardo Houssay was recognized by the Academy for "his discovery of the part played by the hormone of the anterior pituitary lobe in the metabolism of sugars".

Milstein - Argentina
In his work with his co-laureate Georges J. F. Koehler, Milstein developed the techniques for producing monoclonal antibodies this are antibodies with a specific affinity for certain sites in the body that might find diseased cells but leave healthy cells intact.

Now this one is my favorite:

>an Argentinian physiologist named Hugo Zuccarelli came up with a way to
>record holograms of sound. he achieved a three dimensional sound that
>maintained its spaciousness regardless of positions of speakers, number
>of speakers, or position of listener relative to the speaker(s). when I
>first read about it seven or eight years ago he was refusing to release
>his secrets. i guess peter gabriel and paul mccartney tried
>unsuccessfully to buy the technology from him.

Wowie! That's my choice!

I really can't find any significant inventions from Argentina have have dramatically changed the world.
