It is if you do it the way they want you to.I used to be a member and bought several cd's for an average of about $6-7 dollars.Which isnt bad.But I had to buy 6 or more cd's at a time to get that price.Use your head and pay attention to your obligations and you should be fine.By the way,Its all a rip off of one kind or another.

no, it depends on what you want. I personally belong to bmg, and have enjoyed it for three years. Not everyone will be happy. They don't always have the music you are looking for. many times they have live versions of cds, not album. I have gotten some great deals in the past. It's cheaper than buying them at the retail store. Get the deals, fufill the contract, the stop using them. Done it three times. If they don't have what you want after awhile(after you meet their quota) stop using them and find a used cd store, its always an alternative

I think so. They say you get 20 CD's or something similar in nature for the cost of 1 CD, but the catch is the 1 CD you have to buy is more expensive than albums on online services like iTunes or Sony Connect. Your better off going with a service like iTune or Sony Connect.

I've had nothing but trouble with them. I did one of those things where you get 12 CDs for the price of one and then you have to buy like 5 more throughout the next year. I did everything I was supposed to do, including paying for shipping and paying for the extra CD's I ordered. I never got the majority of my CD's including the ones I paid full price for. Well, they have been billing me for the CD's that I payed for and never got for years now. I've called and complained a million times and they still haven't taking me off the list. I've met MANY people who have had similar problems. So yeah, I'd stay away if I were you.

If you're utilizing the "Buy 1, get 3 free" deals, you'll probably break about even, and you can get some great deals on the clearance cds. Just don't get addicted and buy dozens of cds every month. Definitely don't join the dvd club, though--you can get the movies cheaper in the stores and not have to pay the shipping.

It is actually pretty good I think. You really can't beat getting 12 cd's for the price of one. The one cd you buy is gonna cost you about $20 but look at all the free ones you get. With shipping charges, you will not spend more than $40 for everything. Case closed. That is an average of $3.33 per disc!! Try beating that!!

No, not now, because, BMG is not just BMG, but is also Sony Records. They have joined together, and have also made it their top priority to develop new artists (good for me) and make 300 billion dollars in sales and royalties, including merchandising and licensing.

no it isn't, in fact it is a very good way purchase music. all you have to do is tell them if you don't want a featured selection, and they won't send it to you. you purchase one cd at regular club price [ about 20 bucks with shipping and handling ] , and then enjoy whatever sale is going on at that time. I wait for the 1.99 cd sale . I just recieved an order of 16 cd's, and my bill is $104.00. I have been a member since 2001

Not really. I signed up for it and got 11 cds for free, paid for one, bought like 4 at regular price within 2 years, and now I get good deals on cds. I even get coupons sent in the mail to me every now and then.
